Talking to my daughter this morning, I was led to Romans 8:18 which hit my heart with bullseye precision. It reads:

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Many trials come with life. God’s children must look back prayerfully with spiritual eyes to see what God was trying to tear down and build up so we don’t experience the totality of Satan’s destruction and loss.

However, verse 18 is also a strong, edifying reminder that it is not THIS LIFE that matters. It’s how we LIVE IT for Christ, in Christ, and through Christ.

Why? Because the LIFE THAT comes AFTER THIS LIFE puts us in the VERY PRESENCE of our Holy God, to give an account of our life on earth. Our AFTERLIFE will be FAR more exceedingly worth the trials and tribulations we encounter in this life.
