Temporarily Out of Order

For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
Psalm 137:3

Israel often found themselves in captivity because of their disobedience to God’s commands and directives for them. We also find ourselves captive to our sins when we disobey God’s commands and directives that warn us not to get attached to this world. Distractions come in a wide variety and multitude of lusts. We are all prone to fall into a trap or two when we drift into complacency, we let our guard down, and lose focus of why salvation was offered.

We think of the spiritual enemy of God as our attacker but if we are HONEST with ourselves: the real enemy we face most often is OURSELF. We choose to be passive, ignorant, and carnal minded in mind and body. But, we have to BE REAL and ACKNOWLEDGE the part we play in our own destructive habits.

The devil aids our blind works of sin behind the lines, to kill everything in us that celebrates and nurtures our love for Christ and the life we can live through our Savior. Our sin then mocks us, taunts us, and persecutes us to rob us of anything that elevates our praise and our worship. Yet, our praise and worship is the foundation!

If you are in a turning lane of life, attempting to get back on the right road with Christ, or just need a little encouragement on your journey, let me share this word: DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE ATTACKS! They want to shame or ridicule your covering of Grace and Mercy. Now is time to sing louder and prouder than ever before. Chose to put your faith and hope in God, who was, is, and always will be the SOURCE of all life has to offer.

Sing through the challenges and the battles until you find the strength to stand tall again. Let them mock your return to the Rock of your salvation and sing with everything you have in you.

Have a wonderful day and the Lord loves you!
