It’s been difficult trying to date at my age. I think it’s off putting to men when they pay me a compliment on my looks and I respond “looks fade-let’s go deeper.” Maybe that sounds too direct? I don’t know.
The sweetest compliment I received from a gentleman was when he said, “I love your mind…how you think and your knowledge of scripture.” It was nice to be appreciated for what they glimpsed within me. I felt respected and, more importantly, heard.
The saddest thing in dating today is that people aren’t genuine in who they are. They are too busy hiding behind filters that mask their true physical, mental, and spiritual identity. A genuine connection only occurs when there is a genuine meeting of the mind.
What am I missing?
