Stay in Your Lane-The Highway of Life

Morning rush hour traffic. Driving 5 miles above the speed limit. Focused. Out of the corner of your eye you sense danger. You swerve left to avoid a driver who clearly has forgotten the rules of merging onto the freeway. You thank God the lane on your left was clear.

Life is like the freeway. People and situations can suddenly veer into your lane physically, emotionally, and/or spiritually. You have to be spiritually alert to avoid a collision in those areas.

  • Sometimes, you have to veer out of the way of self/people/situations to avoid a collision. Proverbs 4:14-16
  • Sometimes, you have to slow down, drop back, and allow people/situations to rush into the lane they want to travel, to avoid a collision. Romans 16:17-18
  • Sometimes, you have to stay focused, move steadily at your own pace, and motivate people/situations to adapt to your travel plan by staying in your lane. Psalm 16:7-9

Remember: You can’t live out God’s plan for you if you refuse to live in God’s will for you.
