My Takeaway – Joshua 24:15

Joshua 24:15 –  And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

  • If God delivered you from your spiritual wilderness how long has your journey been? And if you are still there, pray, ask why.
  • God will use you to bring someone to him, but HE is the one who will do the work in them. The goal as a Christian is to be useable by God for the work of the ministry(is).
  • There are enemies wherever God is going to send you (Ephesians 6:12). God wants to equip you to win the spiritual battles you will face in the area(s) God is sending you. That can only occur if you are consistently in the Word of God. The word of God is the ONLY WAY to sharpen your spiritual weapons.
  • When the Word of God is preached, it should CHALLENGE YOU to want to SERVE the Lord more. When the message lacks the power of GOD’s WORD,  at best, it challenges you to “works” that serve your worldly desires.
  • Evaluate your life history to honestly determine who/what things you chose deem more worthy of your life, your time, your energy, and your attention than God?
  • The Book of Judges provides a good look at how God’s people sway back and forth between following God and following the idols of the world.
  • Choose God with ALL YOUR HEART; don’t half-step in your faith.
  • Quit trying to use God as a genie in a bottle to grant prayer requests and needs, then place him back on the shelf until your next NEED/WANT.
  • This is a personal decision for the individual Believer. Joshua 24:15b – but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
  • STOP conceding the spiritual battles in your life to your enemy—stand in your victory! The Believer must fight from the position of VICTORY, not from a position of defeat. Ephesians 6:14 – Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
  • Romans 8:18 – For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Conclusion: Make it Personal – CHOOSE  in 2025 “Who you will serve — God or self?”
