The Right Physician

In John 3:14, Jesus references the remedy for physical healing given to the Israelites during their wilderness experience in Numbers 21:7-9, which reads:
7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
He is talking to Nicodemus who is questioning Jesus’ statement in John 3:3 “… Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (Side Note: do not miss the kingdom of God reference which the Jews 1) rejected, and 2)is the salvation offered to all of us!)
I have read the Book of John times before but verse 14 really resonated with me because I see and experience so many looking for healing from the issues they are experiencing in their hearts, minds, and souls. These issues have created a variety of physical and spiritual issues that people seek healing for, but cannot completely be set free from.
There is a biblical answer if one is willing to fully embrace and engage the alternative to what the medical field and world are offering (which I passionately believe is the only answer). While the medical profession adopted the symbol given in the Book of Numbers, Jesus gives Nicodemus (and us today) the cure for spiritual sickness (sin) – HIM!
Spiritual healing comes from using the spiritual tools provided in the Word of God. It is an individual choice. Whatever issues one is experiencing, they must know The Right Physician to go to.
